Spotlight: Mountain Humane
36 years ago, Mountain Humane was established to share hope, love and compassion for all animals in its Idaho community. Always finding new initiatives to protect and care for furry friends, this noteworthy organization is opening a brand new animal welfare campus: “A place where folks can connect. A place where friendships are made and smiles are abundant. A place where animals get a second chance at life. And a place that will transform Idaho into a state where no healthy, adoptable animal is euthanized for space.”
Mountain Humane: hope, drive, and passion for animals
Since 1972 Mountains Humane has connected animals with people, recognizing the pure power that pet/owner relationships have to bring out the best in ourselves. In 1999, Mountain Humane was the first shelter in Idaho to make the commitment to become a “no-kill” shelter, refusing to participate in the practice of euthanizing over-populations of unadopted animals. The turning point was when they also began offering free neuter and spay services, furthering their commitment to pet safety and health. In 2018 they performed 1,234 spay and neuter surgeries (663 cats and 571 dogs). Watch their amazing story.
